Who We Are

Willow Tree Testaments is a non profit initiative dedicated to providing accessible legal education in the area of estate planning.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to understand the basic legal tools that protect themselves and their loved ones. For many individuals, the cost of working with an estate lawyer can be a barrier, leaving them without guidance at important moments in life. Willow Tree Testaments was created to help bridge that gap.

Through simple, practical teaching, we focus on helping you understand the key components of estate planning, including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Personal Directives, Estate Administration, and the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to take next steps on your own, using available resources.

Willow Tree Testaments does not provide legal services. We do not prepare or review documents or give legal advice. Instead, we offer general education to help you better understand your options and the decisions in front of you.

This initiative is fully funded by Christianne Murphy, an estate lawyer based in Calgary, Alberta, who volunteers her time to lead these sessions. Through her work, she recognized a need for accessible education for individuals who may not be able to retain a lawyer but still want to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

At Willow Tree Testaments, our focus is simple: to provide clear, practical education so that no one feels completely lost when navigating estate matters.
